Color

Our eyes see in colors. Why should the camera do it differently? Even though black and white photography is my main focus, here are some examples of my color photography.

Monochrome

Through its reduction, black and white photography is a kind of alienation that brings a hidden reality to the surface. For many photographers, black and white is a profession of faith.

Sleeping beauties

This series was created in France in 2011 during a road trip along the legendary N7, which had its heyday in the 50s and 60s. I’ve tried to capture the remnants of this era with my camera.

Sea views

Those who seek infinity look up to the stars or down from mountain peaks. Or out to sea. My long-term project “Sea views”  traces this human longing for the vastness of the sea.

Silent city

At night, when the inhabitants are asleep and all  cars are parked, the city celebrates its silence. The entire series was photographed in Cologne just before the corona lockdown in autumn 2019.

My passion for photography has been awakened in 2011 on a road trip along the N7 in France. This photo series eventually led to my first exhibition “Sleeping Beauties” in 2014, which was shown at two locations. In 2016 I took the step into monochrome and documentary with the series “Viva Regula”, in which I gained an insight into the life of a Benedictine abbey over several weeks. The work was shown in an exhibition, a book and a photo calendar in 2017. My current focus is on street photography, mainly in black and white.
